Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology, Coimbatore an Autonomous Institution was estd. in 1996, by Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust, a well-known Charitable Trust in Coimbatore. CIMAT Coimbatore was Conferred Autonomous Status by UGC & Bharathiar University from the academic year 2010 – 2011.
CIMAT Coimbatore provides value based higher education & develops the overall personality of the students by providing an opportunity for enhancing creativity,assertiveness,self-confidence, communication & leadership skills.
CIMAT Coimbatore exclusively offers PG courses in Business Administration (MBA) & Computer Applications (MCA) course has a state of the art library with ample reference material covering broad topics. A separate communication cell is established to improve the communication skill of students.

CIMAT, Coimbatore offers a full-time MBA program (Master of Business Administration) in four different specialisations namely- Human Resource, Marketing, Finance and Systems. The duration of the MBA course is two years.
The institute also invites applications for the MCA program (Master of Computer Application) (3 years) and MCA Lateral Entry. CIMAT also offers PhD / M.Phil. Programs in management and M.Phil. Programs in Computer applications.
